I came across this video that aired on the Discovery Health Channel the other day about a man with lymphedema from a spider bite. It's about five minutes, follow the link and then right click>save target as on the low bandwidth file to download.

Personally, I couldn't watch this video after a few seconds. I have lymphedema in my legs and I was upset to see how out of control this condidion can become. I don't need to see that.

I think what really bothers me the most is that someone has to get to the condition of this man's lymphedema before he finally gets treatment.

Is it ever going to change?

Seems like the more we work to get the word out about lymphedema, the more work there is to do.

I watched this video and it does show how extreme it can get, I sent this to my brothers, and it helped them understand my wrapping and bandaging, and massage that I have to do. The picture showing the lymph system on a human and how it flows was very informative for them too. Most people, including me, didn't/don't really understand what lymphedema is and does to a person.

I came across these two videos today of a lecture on the lymphatic system by a professor at UC-Berkeley. More info on the lymphatic system.

The segment on the lymphatic system begins at 12:20 of this video:

...and the lecture is continued in this video:
